Since last Sunday

As the sun was setting last Sunday eve, we
drove through the streets of Portland
to take in the views.

Tuesday morning was magical...
the ground fog from
the snow was so very mysterious and beautiful.

The sundog appeared in the afternoon sky on Wednesday...

Friday brought rain and with it the beauty of
raindrops!

Winter Wonderland

When I awoke this morning
I didn't expect to see a
winter wonderland when I
peered through the window!

As quickly as I could
I bundled up and slipped into
my boots and stepped into the unshoveled
paths to capture the wonder of it all!

The sun came out and the fluffy snow fell from the
branches...so glad to have seen it in the early morning.

Since Saturday

Since Saturday it's been mostly very cold
with some snow...

While doing an errand, we paused to watch
children sliding ...a slippery coating of ice
had formed over the snow.
Brought back memories!

Something special about a winter sky at the beach...

My favorite time of the day as the sun goes down
and the gulls fly home.

It's Snowing!

What a sight through my windows
this morning...

the snow fell through the day

turning to sleet in the late afternoon...

Suddenly it feels like winter!

Special Day

Was magical to wake up on my birthday and
see a dusting of snow...the first snow of the year...
actually the first snow since the October snow storm!

We wandered down the coast...

and came upon a beautiful sky and sea birds...over here.

took a brisk walk along the Marginal Way in Ogunquit...

and window shopped at Harbor Candy Shop in Ogunquit...

Upon returning home, up in the night sky a beautiful
ring had formed around the moon.

It's the little things that make a day so special!

New Year's Day

New Year's Day started

with trees that shimmered
with the rising sun as ice crystals clung to the
delicate branches.

At 11 am. the brave lined up for the annual
Atlantic Plunge to raise money for charity.
Considering it is January 1st, the weather
wasn't too bad for such an event...
44 degrees and sunny
with no snow.

The count down began and

everyone participating ran screaming
into the ocean for a dip!

The sun set at 4:16 pm. and I love this time
for a walk along the ocean.

Best wishes for a year filled with happiness
and good health!
