A surprise to see tulips by the sea

on a cold cloudy day in May.

And nearby along the coast the trout lilies were blooming.

Wandering through the garden this
time of year is full of delightful surprises.
I love to capture these moments with my
camera to work on later with my pens
and watercolors.

Today in the studio I worked on this little

drawing/painting of a butterfly and
lilacs. Am still working on
it but brought it out and set it in the
branches of one of our lilac bushes
to photograph it! The lilacs won't
be in their full glory til probably June!
