Happy New Year

the bluebird of happiness
visited yesterday...
hope the new year will bring happiness,
kindness,
good health, contentment and peace

very cold but beautiful along the Maine coast

Hope all of the birds and wildlife critters stay safe.
This little white-throated sparrow was sheltering
 in our snow laden rhododendron.

A Warm Spell

It was warm enough today to actually take a
walk on the beach without freezing!
It was in the low 40's which felt like a heat wave!
To our amazement, when we drove down Ocean Ave.
in Kennebunkport, we saw a gathering of bluebirds!
I have only seen them a few time in the mild seasons,
so to see them in the middle of January was astonishing.
We noticed they were eating flies that must have hatched
from the seaweed! Very unusual for this time of year
in Maine!

Am working on a painting
of these magical bluebirds over
here with the help of my artist
cat helper, Ellie May.
