Cape Porpoise

I'd like to take you for a ride with us to
Cape Porpoise this afternoon...

the sign in the Wayfarer restaurant window says:
"If you don't stop... smile on the way by!

Sun About to Return

Wednesday afternoon, on the verge of leaving
behind the rain clouds as we drove along a
favorite road that leads to the beach.

Rain, Rain, Rain

The brook has overflowed it's banks on this
rainy rainy day...

First Day of Spring

Here in southern Maine, the first day
of spring was very warm...(70's)

The first purple crocus bloomed in our garden...

Didn't really need a jacket for a walk on the beach...

looked like a summer day...

and ended with a lovely sunset!

(tomorrow the temperature may drop 40 degrees!)

Another Sunset

My favorite time for taking a walk is just before
sunset...that time of day can be so peaceful and calm.
Last night was no exception.

This and That (Continued)

Since I've been home I've taken so many
photos that I'm overwhelmed!
Everywhere I turn is something I love to
capture with my camera and later with
my paints!

I am still going through the photos and will be
back here soon to catch up.

It's now evening and I thought I would share some of my photos...

Over the weekend, especially on Sunday we had
hurricane force winds with driving rain.
Monday afternoon, we took a ride to look at the
ocean...


where the enormous waves were still crashing on the rocks.

The loons found a calm spot in the river
( just beyond where the river meets the sea)

Sun and warm temperatures moved in for
Tuesday and we saw our first crocuses in our
yard along with honeybees!

The sunset was very hazy!

Along the Way Home

After visiting my Dad for 3 weeks
I got half way home on Friday.
My husband met me at his Dad's home Friday night
where we spent the night.

On Saturday, we started out for home.

As we were heading down the road towards Bedford,
this caught my eye... so D turned the car around so that
I could photograph it.


To my surprise, right beside this was a sign that
read, "Chip-In-Farm" with an arrow pointing
down a side street.
I had recently read about the Chip-In-Farm from
The Magpie's Fancy and so we followed the sign.

We were so delighted!
It is so charming and we bought 2 dozen fresh eggs!

It had been raining as we drove through
Massachusetts but as we approached Maine
the roads were dry!

Very cloudy and the sun was barely visible
as we stopped to look at the ocean and so that
I could take a deep breath
of the salty sea air.

As I looked down I spotted a heart rock!

It's good to be home!
( though I miss my family in Connecticut)
