Sunny and Low Tide

Late this afternoon the beach was empty and the 

tide was at its' lowest so we walked to the end that

is closest to the island.

The textures in the sand were striking.

First spring flowers to appear in our yard

was the witch hazel.

Beach Walk

The sun was shining here in Maine as

 we bundled up in our winter coats with hoods, 

scarves, and gloves for a walk on the beach. 

It didn't resemble a spring day according to the

temperature or by the look of the attire of those

 enjoying the fresh air and sunshine but it was 

beautiful and a nice change from the snowy day

we had yesterday.

Happy first day of spring from Maine…

still plenty of snow but it is melting a little bit.

Cold, Windy and A Beautiful Sunset

Late this afternoon, the wind picked up

 and temperature dropped as the sun set.

The sky was so beautiful.

A Hint of Sun

The past few days we have had a little respite from the

 incredible blizzards

 and it may continue into next week.

Though we still have mountains of snow
and it is super cold we can almost believe
that spring may not be too far away.

Sunday, After the Blizzard

Once again we found ourselves 

shoveling out from a blizzard

that left us overwhelmed.

Fortunately the snow was very

light but unfortunately there was so

much of it and the snowbanks are

already so high, we had trouble finding

a place to put it as we cleared pathways

and the driveway.

There could be more snow this week and that is

worrisome.

Too Much Snow

Shoveled again this early evening

to my studio.

The stairs disappeared.

The snowbanks are over my head which makes it

so very difficult to find places to put the snow

without having it fall back down in the path

I am trying to shovel.

What a winter!
