We were visiting the eider ducks this evening
and were excited to see 3 babies...
when the moon rose over the ocean.

I could still see it through the trees...

Early Walk

Took we took a walk early this morning for
today is going to be hot...mid-80's .
The scent of beach roses fills the air!

Now to do some painting!

Baby Shower

Ellie May and I attended my niece's
baby shower via skype Sunday afternoon.
We were there for the entire time.
My sister made a wonderful party
and we had a front row seat.
Since I couldn't be there in person,
this was the next best thing!

Ellie May could take a break from time
to time next to me over here on her couch!

Am thankful for this technology!

Peaceful Evening

The beach roses are out along the coast...

As the sun set, the terns continued to fish...

a very calm evening...

Heat Wave

The heat and humidity moved in on
Thursday...by early evening a misty
haze formed on the beach as some cooler
air and warm air met by the sea!

A Wander Through the Garden

On a very warm Thursday afternoon,
I took a moment to wander through
our garden...

the scent of lilacs lingered in the air...

A Rainy Day

A day of rain and drizzle, at the beach the
colors of the sea were shades of grays...and
the surf was strong...

Just down the road, the rain enhanced the spring
green colors and we spotted some turkeys near the
golf course.


On our way home from the
grocery store tonight, this
red bud caught our eye...
with the beautiful petals
covering the ground...

Lilacs, Beach Rose and Buttercups

The lilacs are in full bloom in our yard..so
impressionistic and fragrant and fleeting...

Along Ocean Avenue in Kennebunkport
the beach roses are appearing...
how I love them!

Plenty of buttercups brighten the landscape
on Ocean Ave. in Kennebunkport as we took
an evening walk.

Spring is such a beautiful time of the year.

Gulls and Shoes

In the early evening, we met our friend at the beach
who is visiting Maine from Virginia. She shared
her leftover pizza with the gulls who scrambled
and fought over it!

It was very very cold as we took a walk on the
beach.

We spotted something sitting upon a log that
had washed ashore.
Upon closer inspection, we realized it was
a high heeled shoe!

quite the contrast to our friends' red shoes and
D's boots!

Blossoms in the Rain

The crabapple tree in our yard
provided a umbrella of pink blossoms
during the sudden rain storms late
this afternoon.

I just love this time of year when all of
the flowering trees are in bloom
creating such a beautiful atmosphere
and reminding me of an impressionistic
painting.
