The Moon and Clouds

As I was walking over to my studio tonight, I looked
up at the sky and it took my breath away...
the moon was peeking through a most unusual fluffy
pattern of clouds in the night sky.

As the Sunset

Was so lovely to be with family over the
holiday weekend
but also so nice to return home to our
welcoming committee of 3 cats!
Much work to do for the Christmas Prelude is
this coming weekend and I will be in a Craft Fair
at the Consolidated School on Saturday and
at the Nonantum Hotel in Kennebunkport

on Sunday morning
for their Breakfast with an Artist.
Was happy to manage to take a brisk walk tonight
just before dark as the sun quickly set...

Traveling on Thanksgiving

We were very fortunate
and thankful to see two families on Thanksgiving...
while traveling on a misty drizzly day,
the sight of the "bridge birds" that sit upon the light poles
by the side of the highway were a delight!

Frost

Early this morning I was amazed at how
beautifully the hard frost had
transformed the yard and the things in it!

This is the latch to the vegetable garden gate,
resembles a little fuzzy critter!

The Wild Sea

This morning (Sunday) at the high tide,
the heavy rains of yesterday had subsided but
the surf was still raging...

So many surfers took to the sea...like penguins...

waves washed up into the road...

I was happy to make it back to the beach before
the light faded this evening...

The tide was low and the sea left behind
much foam mixed with seaweed and oak leaves.

A mist hung in the air along with muted shades
of a pink sunset...

Salute and thank you to all of the Veterans
and those serving...

On the left is my Dad ( a WW2 veteran)
who marched in this years

Connecticut Veterans Day Parade
and has been visiting
schools, sharing
his experiences as a combat medic in the
45th Infantry in Europe.
My father-in-law served in the Pacific
during WW2.

A Warm Day in November

Was unusually warm for November,
this ladybug appeared in my shell collection!

To brighten my day, I received
this beautiful bouquet in memory of my Mom
from a wonderful family from New Jersey...
I had met them in my gallery years ago and
they visit Maine once or twice a year!
It's always wonderful to see them all and
listen to their stories!
Have just begun to work on a portrait
of the youngest members of this family.
Thanks so very much!

The Aster and Milkweed

Every time I walk to and from my studio,
this little aster catches my attention...
it is very delicate yet strong, for it
has weathered the coldest temperatures
and winds and yet remains beside the
milkweed in all of its' beauty!

Remembering

this is a favorite photo of my Mom...
strong feelings of her are coming
through my drawing inspired by
that treasured photograph.

Collecting and Painting Autumn Leaves

Every time I walk along our path from the studio
my eye catches the beautiful colors of fallen autumn
leaves... they were calling out to me to be painted!

A Beautiful Evening

the clarity of the light just before sunset
was so beautiful...

soft shades of pink and blue filled the sky...

the full moon rose through a layer of clouds
as the light in the cupola of the Breakwater Inn shone...
