Time for Reflection

The moon followed us home tonight...traveling
back to Maine...a time to reflect on the past week
with love and sadness...

Brothers

Last week I went over to a nearby beach
to take photos to work from of two brothers
for a portrait. As we were strolling down the
beach path, I was captivated by the sight of
them from the back. Something so universal...

Storm Waves

Here's the effect along our coast of Hurricane Bill,
though the hurricane's path was not close to us,
the large waves reminded us of it!

I will post more photos later and maybe a little
movie that I took today.

Mist and a Dramatic Sky

The air was so heavy with humidity tonight...
creating a mysterious mist along the coast,
not quite fog.

D and I wandered through Dock Square a bit
before heading home...

Vaughn Island

a lovely view of Vaughn Island can be seen
at the end of a little creek...

Looking to see if any shore birds were around,
I spotted the plovers and sandpipers...

Summer Clouds

Hot and humid weather has been
upon us, clear skies with the sun
beating down but tonight some
clouds rolled in. The air feels
cooler and is very appreciated!

August Flowers

just love the lilies in our gardens...

at the beach, the roses are blooming...
while rose hips are ripening...

August Sunset

Monday was a very hot and humid day.
We ventured out for a little ride just before sunset.
When I glanced over towards the jetty,
a glorious sun was about to set.

Friday Sunset

so calm and soft...the colors of the sunset...
walking along the edge of the ocean...

the plovers joined us....

Bicycle Ride

Cooler and cloudy weather made today
the perfect temperature for me
to take the bike out and ride to town to do an errand...
then I found myself continuing to pedal until I reached
the sea where I paused and to my surprise I was treated to
the sight of terns flying and diving.

the cormorants had been....

I didn't realize when I took this photo what I was
actually capturing...
looks like a fish in the air above the cormorant!

The Garden

Since I was away, the vegetables have
been growing...

and August flowers blooming....
something so soothing in a garden...

Hands

hands that bring joy to others...
a gift of music ... a concert... a nursing home...

helping, loving and comforting hands...

The Bee and the Burr

On a hot summer day in Connecticut, this lovely
bee caught my eye.

The Garden Path

Walking down our garden path brought a sense
of peace on Saturday morning.
I am now away to be with family...we are going
through a very sad and stressful time.
