The Snow in February So Far

February 3, about to shovel a path to studio
and I noticed the delicate bird prints in the snow.

Yesterday it snowed again…the snowbanks
are above my head in places.

Shoveled to the studio early last evening.

More snow fell overnight and this is my studio
this morning…more shoveling is awaiting me.
Oh, and it is also super cold.

Rearranging

Been busy rearranging and trying to organize
things in my studio and home.
Takes much time but is rewarding to see
things in a new light!

Autumn Splendor

This autumn the leaves have turned late...
what a surprise to see this through our
backyard.

I have been painting the wall of the porch green
trying the beat the onset of cold weather.
Once I started painting it I couldn't stop and ended
up rearranging everything on the porch
and hopefully making it neater and more inviting!

Here's a look:

My scarecrow doesn't really do his job
as you can see if you click over here.

Hope you are having a good autumn!

More Snow....

The path to the studio now feels like it is
between two mountains!

The disabled old Volvo has totally disappeared!
It is under the mountain of snow to the right of
the house...

In case you are wondering what
you are looking at,
below is what it looked like last April!

More Snow

More snow fell overnight...with it
snow drifts.
Too heavy to clear the paths by
sweeping the snow early this
morning!
I was on my way over to the studio
to feed Ellie May, who you can see
waiting and watching from the left
upstairs window.

This snow called for a shovel!

Once safely inside the studio and
looking back at the house, I noticed how
magical the windows looked.

This is one of our lemon trees!

If you have snow, I hope you can enjoy it's beauty!

Night Light

Several nights ago, I was taken by the light
glowing from the studio as the evening sky darkened.

Welcome to my Studio

Welcome to my art studio.

Since today started out cloudy and drizzly,
I decided to do some rearranging inside
my studio. You're welcomed to take a look!

Why don't we stroll down the garden path that leads to the studio.
Ellie May the artist studio cat will be watching for you
from her upstairs window.

Let's step inside the porch...

See the scarecrow over in the corner,
well, that was part of a Scarecrow Festival
last October at the Nonantum Hotel
in Kennebunkport... artists and craftspeople
were invited to display their art and crafts
outside in a big tent if they brought a scarecrow
that they made. There were some incredible
scarecrows! The wind picked up and my scarecrow
fell right over and had to be anchored with big
rocks!

Let's go inside...

In the center is a painting of Polly with
Ellie May's mouse on the couch...

The stairs lead to my work space upstairs...
I don't see Ellie May, she's probably still upstairs
in her window but she'll be down to greet you!

Oh, there's Ellie May! She's ready to go out on the porch
to look for chipmunks in the garden, her favorite
pastime.

Thanks for visiting!

ps.
I thought you might like to see who made the studio and our
house and gardens, my husband, D, who wears many hats!

Christmas Prelude, Kennebunkport Maine

Upon returning home from a visit to my parents,

I've been concentrating on preparations for one of the many
Prelude Craft Fairs in our town coming
up this weekend.
The Christmas Prelude is a very big event,
there's a tree lighting ceremony, shops are opened at
night, the whole town is decorated, there's a parade of hats,
Santa arrives on a Lobster Boat and more!
Mrs. Claus will be having breakfast at the Nonantum Resort
in Kennebunkport, on Sunday, December 7th, and I will be the
guest artist.

If you can't make it to Maine this
season, my Gift Gallery is always opened
on my website,
just e-mail me ( shellsandroses@gmail.com)
if you have any
requests or questions for
a special gift.

just click on the above image to go to the gift gallery,
thanks!
Happy Holidays and best wishes!

Cutting Mats

Working under the inspection of Ellie May.

I still cut mats for my art
the old fashioned way, with
a simple Dexter mat cutter and
a straight edge and I
work on the floor!
I'm worried that I will run out of blades
one day and not be able to replace them!
