The Day After the Storm

Although it was still dark when I woke this morning,
a light caught my eye through my dormer
window.
The full moon was setting and playing hide-n-seek
with the fast moving clouds.
To my surprise it was very calm and balmy outside.

We went out early to check out the surf at the beach...

The brightly colored rose hips were a lovely
contrast to the muted tones of the sea and sky.

In the shelter from the wind, there
was a calm sea but beyond the
lighthouse the strong surf could
be seen.

The sun even made an appearance.

A Great Afternoon for a Walk

Autumn was in the air,
clear and crisp!

A late afternoon walk on the beach yesterday
was much appreciated!

...footprints from those who enjoyed the beach
earlier.

everyone was out walking...

the surfers took advantage of the great waves...

a clam shell caught the rays of sun by the shore...

and the almost full moon was out
in daylight!

Hope you are able to enjoy some
autumn weather wherever you may be
if it is the autumn season where you live!

A Beach Day

Yesterday was actually a bit milder and the surf was
beautiful with rooster tails!

Had to smile when I saw this very small bike
parked at the beach!

Hope the sun is shining where you are!

Surf

The heavy rain last night and into today created
a stormy sea with huge waves.
The ocean was dotted with 2 kinds of surfers
riding the waves.

Watching the Sea Ducks

About to take a walk along the
shore tonight when I spotted the
eiders surfing in the waves at
high tide.
Though the beach was quickly
disappearing in regards to taking
a walk, as the tide
was approaching the seawall,
it was perfect for watching the eiders
navigate the big surf!

Surf

Today the air was calm and the temperatures

on the mild side but the sea was a different story.

Something yellow caught my eye and
I followed a yellow butterfly as it clung
to wild radish flowers as the sea
roared around it.

The sea appeared deceptively calm
in between big swells that crashed
upon the rocky coast.
A mist settled over Mt. Agamenticus
as the sun began to set.
