Almost a Nightmare

When we arrived at the library this morning to set up my art show,
I unpacked all of my 44 pictures and lined them up on the floor.

The new system for hanging artwork looked like it should be much
easier than the last time but we ran into a big problem.
We realized there wasn't enough fishing line and fastener hooks.
Fortunately we found more line but not the hooks.
When D says something is a nightmare, I really worry for he usually
can solve any problem. He did find a workaround but it took all of
3.5 hours to set it up finishing just when the library closed for the day!

There was absolutely no way that I could have
figured out how to hang them...
plus the line had been cut short from previous
exhibitors so my art
is rather high on the wall.
D was trying to figure out ways to add extensions.

Luckily D is tall enough to reach the ceiling
without a ladder for the top end of the line
hooks into the moulding along the very top
of the wall.
I'm so thankful it is done and
we were both so exhausted!

A Few More Days

Oh, it's just a few more days til I set up my art show
at the Kennebunk Library.

Been so busy and am working on labeling everything now.
Keep adding things and I have no idea how it will
all fit together when we get there!

Stay tuned!

Saturday At Pine Point

Late Saturday afternoon we found ourselves
a parking spot in Pine Point, the fog had rolled
in and it was nice and cool!

It brought back many memories of my childhood
when I used to take many walks to Pine Point.

Prout's Neck was barely visible through the fog...
(that is where Winslow Homer painted)

I still have a painting I made of
Prout's Neck when I was a child
at my Grandparent's cottage...
special memories!

Drizzle

By Friday evening, after spending a day inside working on the
preparation for my art show at the
Kennebunk Library
for the month of August,
I was ready for a walk!

By the time we got to the beach it began to
drizzle. I actually love this weather...it was light
enough not to drench us and had a lot of atmosphere!
D didn't have a rain jacket in the car so he borrowed
mine, a bit snug for him but it worked!

The Garden

Would like to share our garden path this time
of year when the lilies are in bloom.
The colors are delicious!

They are scattered throughout our yard...
they opened early this year and I will miss them
later on.

Over on our little "Blueberry Hill" some are
ripe for the picking! What a treat!
(I like to put them in yogurt.)
Do you have any blueberry recipes...

(Lori Ann shared a wonderful one over here.)

The Weather

A day of humidity, fog and thunderstorms...

The fog crept in from the ocean
and kept us cooler for part of the day
but with it more humidity!

The thunderstorms didn't bring in cool air,
just more humidity!

We welcome the rain in the garden!

Hope the weather is not too oppressive
wherever you may be!

Always a Special Day

Remembering a special anniversary,
a cherished memory...
This evening D and I visited
the seaside town that the
wedding took place way back in 1944.
Missing someone beloved...

The moon was beautiful tonight
and followed us home...

Beached

Last evening we took a walk on the beach,
hazy and humid... noticed a crowd had
gathered up ahead and couldn't imagine why
until we noticed 2 boats sitting in the sand at the
edge of the ocean.
Still we had no idea who and why.

Asked someone and were told that a fog bank
had rolled in around 2 or 3 in the afternoon and
these 2 boats obviously couldn't see and ended
up on the beach and had to wait about 5 or 6 hours
for the tide to come in.

We happened to be there at the time of the rescue
for the more famous boat as you see here.

Help was on the way!
A tuna boat is in the middle...

Success!

The other boat managed to get out with the help
of passersby who pushed and pulled...

Never know what you'll see on these evening walks!

Summer Night

Been having very hot and humid weather this week...
even near the coast, there wasn't too much relief.
Tonight felt a bit cooler
but the humidity felt very high.

I love walking down Ocean Avenue.
Enjoy seeing what wildflowers are blooming.
The Queen Anne's Lace was growing right
out of the sidewalk!

A little cottage on the grounds of St. Ann's has
the most beautiful colorful flowers.

The setting sun was intense!

Hope it is not overwhelmingly hot and humid
where you are!

The Lilies Are Here!

Oh how I love this time of year when the
lilies are blooming in our gardens.
Here's a few of them...

Hope you enjoyed them, too!

I'll be in a craft fair on Saturday on the Green in
Kennebunkport and have been busy getting
ready for it...will write more when things
