Painting A Memory

I started this with thoughts about our beloved cat,
Ellie May, who we lost in February at the age of 19.
For years I've been collecting stories about her amazing
life and have been painting her with thoughts of putting
something together for a book.
This view of Kennebunkport is from a hill that shows
the building where Ellie May started out before she
became part of our family. She was a neighbor to our
gallery when we were in a shop space where the river
meets the sea. The is a view of the old neighborhood.
I hope to someday put something together in Ellie May's
memory.

A Winter Memory

Early last January, when I was at my parent's
home on a very snowy day, I glanced out of
their upstairs window, admiring the softly
falling snow when suddenly out of all of
the whiteness, a lovely couple taking
a walk added a magical feeling... something
that touched me...I knew I wanted to remember
that moment with my ink and watercolors.

Doors

Among the things I love to
draw and paint are doors.
They are the welcome
signs to a world within.
I'm always on the lookout
for doors with character.

House Portrait

Today I worked on finishing a house portrait
commission with Ellie May guiding me and
keeping me focused! Her company and calm
presence inspires me to keep going!
