Went out late in the day to see
if we could catch a glimpse of the sunset.
Down on Ocean Avenue along the Kennebunk River
was my first glimpse of the brilliant sky
reflected in the river.
Looking down the road in the direction of the
neighborhood of our former gallery
the colors had already faded but
rounding the bend by the ocean the colors
appeared again in sky and sea before slipping away
into the night.
