Magical Snow

The snow was incredibly beautiful early this morning...

Around 6:30 am. I climbed the wooden ladder

 to the attic for this view.

It was so exciting but it didn't last...

it fell from the trees by late morning
as the sun got higher and the temperatures rose.

Snowing and Surfers

 

It snowed all day...a winter wonderland...

Over at the beach the surfers were out.

They looked mysterious through the snow!

The Magic of Snow

I love the magical feeling when it begins

to snow...soft and quiet, gently falling

snowflakes surround me through the windows.

And then it stops...but it will return!

Winter Sky

I'm in love with the winter sky in the late afternoon

when it is cloudy...

I love all the subtle shades of blue and pink

and as the sun peeks out just before it sets

it fills me with inspiration.

Winter Lemons

Here we are surrounded by deep snow

and inside one of our lemon trees

has given us a large lemon!

Also, a cutting from a geranium

that is rooting in a cup of water

has blossomed!

A Tour After the Storm

Here is a little tour on Sunday of

 Dock Square and the Lower Village

after the amazing snowfall of the weekend.

Shoveling Out

Wow, there was so much snow that fell 

overnight

from this enormous blizzard.

 

D did most of the tough spots.

Some of the drifts were up to my shoulders.

 

 

 

The plow added to the height and I thought we would

never dig out!

 

 

I worked on trying to shovel a path

to my studio.

 

I gave up here!

Exhausted!

Storm Update

We ventured out in the late afternoon
along the Kennebunkport coast....

and through Dock Square....

heading home...

Tonight I can hear the wind howling through my window.
The majority of the snow may reach us overnight.
We shall see what the morning brings.

Nor'easter

Snow is falling as we head into a Nor'easter this

weekend.

Hope everyone stays safe and warm.

Purple Potatoes

Here's the last of our fall harvest of purple potatoes...

am amazed they kept until February.

 

They are so beautiful that I was reluctant to cook them!
