Snow in Maine

D sent me snow photos this morning reflecting
the recent snowfall yesterday in Maine.
This is what I am missing while I'm
in Connecticut where there's only
4 or 5 inches of snow.
Actually, I love the look of all of the snow!
It's like the winters of years past when we
were children.
It will probably still be there when I return
home next weekend.
What kind of winter are you having?

What a beautiful picture! It does look like a childhood dream of winter. I bet the kids aren't missing any school there, either...unlike here when last week we had about an eighth of an inch of snow and they delayed school opening for 2 hours! Maybe we'll get some measurable snow today. So far we have had a fair amount of rain, very little freezing precipitation, and the last two weeks, unusually cold temperatures. (It was down to 3 degrees Friday night, which for Virginia is very cold.)

Hi quiltcat,
3 degrees is cold!
Wonder what the rest of the winter will bring!
Take good care and keep those kitties warm!

That is a lovely photo. You have the most charming house. Are those lilacs out front?

We are on track to be one of the snowiest winters ever. December did break a record. Things are calm here now, cold but no snow. In Dec and early Jan we were getting snow every other day. Enough is enough, right?

What luscious, yummy snow, and a gorgeous picture too :)

We had an amazing frost last week, but no snow this year.

Marnie,
sounds like you have had your fill of winter...maybe February will calm down!

Kim,
It's hard to believe you don't have snow...is that typical for where you live?

Sian,
thanks for writing!
I think because I was born in January I don't mind the winters and actually love them. I have trouble with the heat of summer!

We live around 13miles from the South Coast and it's rare for us to get snow. If we do, it only lasts for a few days and is rarely deep, which is good as we are so unprepared for it, that everything grinds to a halt!!!

Everything is very springlike now after last weeks big freeze!
