Another Lovely Sunset

After a sunny day, I took a brisk walk along the beach
tonight as the sun was setting...I love this time of
year in the early evening...the chill in the air seemed
to make me walk faster!

Evening Walk Along the Beach

Tonight the sun was hidden by a blanket of clouds...

signs of autumn washed up in the wet sand...

along with treasured angel wings ...

Autumn in Kennebunkport

Today as we went into town I was amazed as to
how the beautiful autumn colors had suddenly
appeared wherever I looked.

Dock Square, Kennebunkport

Along Ocean Avenue, Kennebunkport

Mast Cove, Kennebunkport with a friendly ghost!

I am in love with the shades of autumn!

Leaves and More Leaves

Colors of autumn are so inspiring...

I find such beauty in the dried leaves in the garden.

First Snow

All day it felt cold enough to snow,
but it rained instead.

Was a treat to get a hot chocolate at the bakery
and chat with a friend.

Along Summer Street, some of the magnificent houses
were transformed for Halloween.

Some were decorated for autumn and a tiny face
in the window of this beautiful home caught
my eye. Click here to see just who I saw.

Alas, tonight as I walked over to my
studio, I was greeted by big wet snow flakes!

Harvest and Sunset

The sunflowers are hanging upsidedown
on the porch.

Apples from the yard are being collected and stored
in buckets...we must find a cool spot in the house
for long term storage.

We only have a few Scarlet Runner Beans
and they are so beautiful I feel like drawing them!

Just happened to go by the beach
as the sun was setting, the sky
and it's reflection in the sand was
so enveloping.

Doubles

Ever notice how some days seem to go with a theme?
Today was such a day.
My hubby, D, and I rushed out to do some errands.
He forgot his watch but keeps an extra watch in the
car so he slipped it on before entering the hardware store.
When he checked his watch to see if he was
running late, this is what he saw:

Ten Ten

Ten Ten is special to us...
by serendipity
we were married at 10:10 am.
on October 10th, (the tenth month and day)
so it was at 10:10 on 10/10,
many years ago!

By chance, my parents had met for the very
first time on October 10th, sixty-six years ago.

Today is my sister-in-laws birthday
and also the birthday of a good friend we
had met in our gallery.

Looks like a nice Fall day and
I'll be collecting some autumn leaves!

Wishing everyone a special October 10th!

ps.

It's evening now and I'm reflecting on our afternoon...
a beautiful walk down a trail at Biddeford Pool that
led to the ocean with a view of a lighthouse.

...can you see the Wood Island Lighthouse
in the distance?

I took so many photos and hope to add some
more here later on!

The Wheelbarrow Tire

My husband, D, was tired of all of the flat tires
his wheelbarrows kept getting
so he decided to do something about it.
He took a can of insulation spray foam and filled
the tire but first made holes in the tire to provide
an outlet for the excess foam to escape so that it
wouldn't explode!
Here it is before he scraped off the excess foam...
he hasn't tried it out on the wheelbarrow yet so
we'll have to see if this really works...will keep you posted!

Lilies, Carved Pumpkin and Art

It's amazing to see yellow lilies blooming in October
in Maine but "Sandra Elizabeth" is going strong as
long as we don't have a frost!

D took out his set of pumpkin carving tools
late this afternoon and started carving on the deck
at the Spooky Art Show at Kennebooks in Kennebunk!

...an interesting pumpkin head!

Here's the ink and watercolor I created
for the Spooky Art Show and I called it "Dark Shadows".
There was an amazing coincidence that
occured with this....
