Potato Harvest

It took all day on Thursday to harvest
our potatoes!
I didn't realize how many D had planted!

...much digging and searching
and brushing off
the dirt.

then the question was where to put
them all to dry out before we store them.

The only available space large enough
was our living room floor and they took
up the entire space but we had more
so some went upstairs ...you can see
who is checking those out by clicking here.

Does anyone have any suggestions on how to
store them for the winter?

Good thing we love potatoes!
Do you have any favorite potato recipes to share?

I think the best way to store them is to keep them cool, dark and well ventilated. My grandpa used to keep potatoes in a dark corner of the basement during the winter months. He kept them in plastic baskets (I think they were laundry baskets) so air would circulate and keep them from getting moldy.

As for recipes, I can't think of a potato recipe I don't like! Twice baked are one of my favorites!
