Today I worked on finishing a house portrait commission with Ellie May guiding me and keeping me focused! Her company and calm presence inspires me to keep going!
That looks like a lovely painting unfolding. Glad your power wasn't out for long. Your weather is so much more extreme than ours. We get a heavy frost, everyone panics and the country grinds to a halt! Ok, so I'm exaggerating a bit, but it is like that sometimes. Our rail service ground to a halt one year because of leaves on the line!!!
Hi Kim, Thanks for the compliment about the house painting... I am so happy that I have finished it now. We have been having crazy weather in a short time frame...from 50 degrees to single numbers, snow, ice and rain! What's next!
Hi Marnie, Actually, I believe Ellie May was named for Miss Clampet by the couple who adopted her when she was a kitten. The name does suit her! She's about 16 now.
What a lovely furry mews Ellie Mae makes! My cats tend to be a bit more actively involved in my artwork, hence the many pictures of kitties with their bottoms on works in progress. :) The completed house portrait in your next post is really gorgeous!
I'm an artist/illustrator specializing in ink and watercolors and photography. My little studio in Maine is nestled in our garden by a babbling brook. Everyday I draw inspiration from the pets who have touched my life, our garden, birds and wildlife critters, quaint old houses, children, shells, scenes of the seaside and more.
Hope to share my art and observations with you and don't forget to take a moment to notice the precious little things around you.

The lovely Ellie May. Was she by chance named for Miss Clampett? She is really much prettier.
