Stormy Sea

After we shoveled out this afternoon,
we wondered what the surf might be like...

Just going by the tidal basin was a hint of
what to expect for there
were waves in what normally is calm water.

The tide was high and the surf was wild and crashing
with rooster tails...
something about a storm and the ocean that is so
mesmerizing.

We watched til almost dark...

Beautiful! Living in Michigan, I only get to see the ocean when we vacation in the Carolinas each year, but I've never seen it in winter conditions. It looks so cold!!

Willoughby,
Oh, it was so very cold and windy!
I stepped out of the car to take photos very briefly but took most of them from the shelter of the car!

What amazing photos, Nan!!
It is cold and windy enough here in Massachusetts, I can't imagine how freezing it must be near the water! But I would love to watch that wildness too - nature at its most energetic!!
