I find shells to be endlessly fascinating. So delicate, yet so strong that they survive the pounding surf. I love to have my favorites on display around the house. I missed them when I put them away for Christmas decorating.
The orchid is lovely. I've never grown one myself, but I would like to.
Willoughby, Shells are so beautiful...so many shapes and subtle colors and a home to many mollusks! We have several orchids that people gave to my husband, they couldn't take care of them or they were about to throw them out. He has a green thumb and the orchids have thrived under his care...they are so incredible and so lovely to have blooming in the winter! I hope you try growing one or two...
I'm an artist/illustrator specializing in ink and watercolors and photography. My little studio in Maine is nestled in our garden by a babbling brook. Everyday I draw inspiration from the pets who have touched my life, our garden, birds and wildlife critters, quaint old houses, children, shells, scenes of the seaside and more.
Hope to share my art and observations with you and don't forget to take a moment to notice the precious little things around you.
