Is Spring Around the Corner?

Ellie May dreams of spring...

One of the first signs that spring may be near
is the witch hazel, the first to bloom with its
long yellow petals. Often with snow on the
ground, the yellow witch hazel blossoms are an
optimistic sight.
(It appears that ours may
soon be blooming.)

After another 5 inches of snow last night,
it feels as though we'll be waiting patiently
for spring for quite some time.

Is spring around the corner where you are?

Hi Nan. The signs of Spring here are the birds...lots of singing! the white throated sparrows and Cardinals are especially noticeable. It still looks wintry here (brown and grey) but i have one tiny little snow crocus showing color. Ellie May in typical cat fashion seems to be waiting very patiently and well snuggled in. I like the daffodil pillow next to her!

quiltcat, today, Sunday it is actually raining...could be a sign of spring but it may turn to snow overnight, so back to winter! Thanks for the compliment about the daffodil pillow! Remember my comment on your post about learning to sew... well, I forgot to mention I also made lots of pillows and simple bags and painted on the fabric directly or attached a painting to it. I haven't done anything like that in a very long time!

Sian,
Aren't you lucky to have spring already...I mentioned that to my sister!
