While taking a ride by the beach on a calm
morning at high tide, a sudden motion in
the sky caught our attention.

A flock of birds were flying back and forth
and suddenly landed on the rocks.

Upon closer inspection, we could see that
they were some kind of pipers.

I love pipers and it was so magical to see
so many in one place in the winter!

very nice to see all those little birds in their flock!
I haven't seen pipers since I moved from Oregon. I enjoy seeing everyone's bird photos.

Lovely pictures, Nan :) Thanks for dropping by the blog. I'm inching ever nearer to re-starting it now the year end accounts are done, and other projects are nearly finished. Take care
