A Musical Family

Today my parents and I spent a
lovely afternoon with my brother
and his family.
Music filled the air.

My 13 year old niece is learning to play
the clarinet.

My brother is a classical pianist (in his spare time).

My 11 year old niece is learning to play the piano
and she loves to draw. You can see her work at
my Furry and Feathered Friends blog.

Their Mom has a beautiful voice as do the girls.

It was wonderful to be in the midst of
a busy family and share a delicious dinner with them!

What a talented family. I played the guitar in my younger days. Haven't picked one up in years.

Hi Marnie,
That's really great that you played the guitar.
I love music but do not have any musical talent. I grew up listening to my little brother practicing the piano in the living room early in the morning and he would often get thirsty. My 2 sisters and I would busily run up and down the stairs getting ready for school or whatever we were doing and we could hear my brother's voice shout out as he played, "Could anyone get me a pick-me-up, I need a pick-me-up!"
I'm afraid we weren't too sympathetic! The more we ignored his request, the louder he became and he wouldn't give up until someone brought him something to drink.
Having been exposed to his classical music while growing up I developed a special appreciation and love for it...I sure do miss hearing him practice and perform so when I do have a chance to visit and hear him play, it means so much.

Wow, what a talented family, and how fun it all sounds! :) I truly am delighted that I've found you. Your work is really wonderful, Nan. The illustrations in 'Scruffy' are fantastic. You certainly are blessed with talent. And doors---Oh, I too do find doors quite intriguing...the one with the hat is just lovely...and your little drawings with cups and flowers, etc. I want one of each!! :) My sisters would adore your work.

There is nothing so pleasant as to hear music played well live, especially when it is played someone you love.
Happy days :o)

What a lovely way to spend some time, being entertained by musicians :) It's a talent that I lack, but I do so enjoy to listen to others play.

Sian,
I agree with you...do you have anyone musical in your family?
Hope you are having a wonderful spring!

Kim,
I also lack musical talent and love music! I especially love to work on my art with music.
